How to Shop Using Hypnosis

Dec 15, 2015 | Hypnosis, Anxiety

Everyone who comes to see me for 1:1 sessions get taught some tools and techniques to help them begin to feel they can take control of the anxiety and stress. This is always something you can take away with you from the first session and use anywhere, any time, easily and discreetly! (I promise, I don’t make you wave your arms around or do something that looks silly!). Here’s a great example of when one of my clients learnt how to shop using hypnosis.

I love the self hypnosis

The other night I was catching up at the beginning of the session (as I usually do) with a client, Jennifer, and she said

“oh, I love the self hypnosis you taught me last week. Well, I don’t even do all of it, I just start counting backwards and it feels great”

Of course, I’m delighted to hear that she is implementing the tools and that they are effective so I asked what had happened or where was she when she used it.

“In the cinema” she said. “I was Christmas shopping. I wanted vouchers for someone, so went into the cinema and was stood in the queue. The amount of questions they asked the people in front of me was ridiculous and I just knew I was going to be there ages. What made it worse was that every time the member of staff asked the questions, the woman repeated them to her little girl!”.

Yes, you get the picture don’t you? In fact I’d experienced similar a few weeks before taking my girl there.

I could feel my heart beating faster

“So what happened?” I asked.

“Well, I was in a rush and I could feel my heart beating faster and that feeling in my chest getting uncomfortable, so I started the counting”

In the short self hypnosis that I teach, there’s a part of it where you count backwards from 100-95.

Jenny continued “I just kept counting backwards and I could feel myself getting calmer and whilst I knew these people were in front of me I completely calmed down and was just so comfortable in my own space”.

This is wonderful! In fact, I often use my tools and techniques when I’m out and about in everyday life. I’d used a different one myself the week before in a card shop. The queue was so long I thought the end of it was in another shop!

So, if you’d like to learn a selection of tools and techniques, even if it’s just so you learn How to shop using hypnosis, get in touch with me or keep an eye out for some of the freebies, offers and blogs where you can pick up ones from there. Let me know where they might be useful in your life!
